This assignment was to create a logo for a new financial services company in Newport News, Virginia. The client desired that the logo prominently feature a lion based upon the famous Lions Bridge landmark in the area.
Getting to know the landmark’s sculpture from photographs, I sketched out preliminary drawings. We agreed: too much curly mane, not enough charisma.
A more realistic version was
then approved by the client.
The inked drawing further refined in Illustrator.
Color added to the finished design. Stationery, business cards, website home page integration, flyer and color ads were subsequently designed.
